Hard Softee is a rock quartet based in Tacoma, WA. The Softees bring a collective century of musical experience to listeners of all backgrounds; providing them something new and different to enjoy. Hard Softee explores a unique spectrum of math rock that embraces smoother elements of jazz and pop and juxtaposes it with aggressive hardcore and metal. Through a fully-concerted and more-than-just-musical effort, Hard Softee tastefully dances between themes of darkness and whimsy.

Our fearful leader, Yousef.
Yousef has been playing about 17 years and drumming is their language of choice. They enjoy all sorts of technical music, as well as various emo, hardcore, and metal. Their current top influences are CHON, Kaonashi, and Oranges.

Fun Fact: Yousef has an incredible sense of direction and can find anything around town without a GPS.

Our favorite chain smoker, Andrew! He’s been playing guitar for 24 years and lists hardcore, black metal, and math rock as his top genres. Tera Melos, Botch, and The Mars Volta are among his most influential bands.

Fun Fact: Andrew just started his own construction company!

Our resident pop (adjacent) girlie, Aal! Although new to the post-hardcore scene, Aal started singing out of the womb and half-assing guitar for 19 years! Her top 3 most influential artists are Mitski, Hayley Williams of Paramore, and Nai Palm of Hiatus Kaiyote. They are
having a lil hyperpop phase atm but their top genres are emo/emo pop, neosoul, jpop, and generally genres that are extra (eg. math rock) and/or fuse other genres together.

Fun Fact: Aal can type up to 120 words per minute on a good day (but not on a phone keyboard).

Our newest and tallest member!
Devin has been playing bass for 22 years. He lists Monobody, Mindforce, and CASIOPEA as his most influential bands. At this point in time, his favorite genres are hardcore, nu disco, and dream pop!
